MSGP Student

Kevin Newton is studying for his Master of Science in General Psychology degree at The University of Memphis. He graduated with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Philosophy from The University of Memphis in May 2012.

He currently works with Drs. Max Louwerse, Jeffrey Berman, and Evan Risko on investigating different aspects of social interactions and concepts. Specifically, his research interests lie in embodied cognition, language used while dealing with trauma, and the effects of social presence on cognition and behavior.

When Kevin can find free time he enjoys spending time with his partner, Brandi Newton. Together they discuss societal problems, design and create various works of art, visit family, play with their cat (Chloe), travel, and watch the television shows The Office and Parks and Recreation.
